Join Our Finance Team as a Financial Accountant!

Are you an experienced finance professional ready to take ownership of complex accounting processes across multiple jurisdictions? We’re looking for a Financial Accountant to join our high-performing APAC Finance team and support our Insurance and Reinsurance operations in Singapore and China.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Own the ledgers: Manage and reconcile financial transactions for Singapore and China branches in line with US GAAP and local regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver insights: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, and explain variances to budget.
  • Support compliance: Assist with MAS, tax, and Schedule P reporting across jurisdictions.
  • Strengthen controls: Maintain robust financial controls and support SOX compliance.
  • Collaborate globally: Work with regional and local teams to ensure financial reporting integrity.
  • Drive improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements across finance operations.
  • Be a trusted partner: Support ad hoc projects and assist the CFO as needed.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and record branch financial transactions.
  • Reconcile balance sheet and profit/loss accounts monthly.
  • Manage investment accounting and month-end close activities.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual US financial reports.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Support MAS and tax reporting requirements.
  • Assist with Schedule P submissions and SOX documentation.
Other Duties
  • Review and approve new brokers and cedants.
  • Contribute to finance process improvements and cross-functional projects.
  • Provide backup support to the APAC Finance Shared Services team.
What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a seasoned Financial Accountant with a strong background in insurance or reinsurance. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and confident working across jurisdictions and systems. You’ll be comfortable juggling deadlines, collaborating with diverse teams, and driving continuous improvement.

  • Bachelor of Business (or equivalent) in Accounting
  • ACCA, CA, or CPA qualified
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in financial reporting within insurance or reinsurance
  • Advanced Excel skills including macros
  • Proficient in financial systems (PeopleSoft desirable)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities
  • Experience with SOX and US GAAP
  • Innovative mindset and a passion for process improvement
