We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Virtualization Systems Administrator to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain a large-scale virtualization infrastructure built on Linux KVM and Apache CloudStack.
  • Perform routine monitoring, maintenance, patching, and troubleshooting of the existing VMware vSphere and vCenter environment to ensure its stability and performance.
  • Administer and maintain company and customer Windows Server environments.
  • Deploy, manage, and maintain Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
  • Support and maintain VoIP infrastructure and related communication platforms.
  • Install, configure, and maintain enterprise server and storage hardware, including Dell servers and various SANs.
  • Monitor system capacity and performance across both KVM and VMware platforms, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
  • Automate infrastructure management tasks through scripting.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex issues, providing advanced troubleshooting for both the virtualization software and the underlying physical hardware (servers, storage, networking).
  • Develop and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for system configurations and operational procedures.
  • Assist in planning and executing backup, high-availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) strategies for the entire virtual environment.
  • Actively look for opportunities to improve system and application efficiencies.
  • Other tasks and duties as required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Hands-on technical experience with Linux KVM as a hypervisor in an enterprise setting.
  • Strong experience in the administration and maintenance of a VMware vSphere environment, including vCenter, ESXi hosts, vSAN and distributed switches.
  • Strong, demonstrable experience with cloud orchestration platforms, with a significant preference for Apache CloudStack.
  • Proficient in Linux and Windows Server administration, including OS installation, patching, performance monitoring, and system troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with deploying and managing VDI solutions (VMware Horizon, Citrix, etc.).
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting VoIP phone systems and infrastructure.
  • Proven experience installing, configuring, and managing enterprise-grade hardware, including Dell rack-mount/blade servers and Storage Area Networks (SANs) from various vendors.
  • Solid understanding of networking principles as they relate to a virtualized environment (e.g. VLANs, software-defined networking).
  • Experience with project-based work such as major infrastructure upgrades and data center or virtual machine migrations.
  • Other tasks and duties as required.
Qualifications
  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 4 years equivalent work experience.
  • Certifications that include ITIL, VMWare and RedHat are valued along with Fortinet NSE4 (and above).
