Work Setting: Private home

Location: Edmonton, AB

Salary: $20.50 hourly / 35 hours per week

Working schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:45 to 10:45 and 2:30 to 6:30

Note: Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities include repetitive tasks, work under pressure, and weight handling up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Assume full responsibility for the household in the parents’ absence, ensuring daily routines are maintained smoothly.
• Supervise and care for two children, aged 6 and 12, providing age-appropriate support and guidance.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks tailored to the children’s dietary needs.
• Assist the 6-year-old with personal hygiene, dressing, and homework, while supporting the 12-year-old in developing independence.
• Take both children to and from school, extracurricular activities, and medical or other appointments.
• Instruct the children in personal hygiene, healthy habits, and appropriate social behaviour.
• Discipline the children in accordance with the parents’ preferences and guidance.
• Plan and supervise recreational, educational, and play activities suitable for their ages.
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, including tidying play areas, children’s bedrooms, and laundry.
• Shop for groceries and household supplies as required.
• Keep accurate records of the children’s daily activities, meals, and health information.
• Maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment in the home.
