Job description

We're offering a generous sign-on bonus of $15,000 to welcome you to our team. We value exceptional talent and look forward to discussing the details of this bonus during our interview process.

The Ultrasonographer is involved in direct patient care and manages room workflow under the supervision of the Ultrasound Supervisor. The qualified candidate will have certification in at least two ultrasound modalities (such as Abdomen and OB/GYN) and must maintain competency in all assigned areas. Certification in at least two modalities must be maintained at all times.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs ultrasound examinations on all patients according to department needs, maintaining knowledge and skills to independently perform exams within the ultrasound modalities.
  • Ensures exams meet quality standards, are documented properly, and are available for interpretation promptly.
  • Works under the direction of the Medical Director of Ultrasound, Ultrasound Supervisor, or delegates to ensure AIUM imaging standards are upheld.
  • Provides excellent patient care by explaining procedures, assisting with patient movement, answering questions, and addressing concerns. Recommends protocol improvements as needed.
  • Accurately enters charges and clinical documentation into the EMR for all exams.
  • Participates in training ultrasound students.
  • Contributes to workflow planning and adheres to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Participates in quality assurance and research activities related to ultrasound protocols.
  • Monitors equipment performance and coordinates repairs as necessary.
  • Maintains effective communication with staff, vendors, and other departments.
  • Performs additional duties to ensure efficient departmental operation and high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Graduated from an accredited Ultrasound Sciences program.
  • Current ARDMS registration in Ultrasound and BLS/CPR certification.
  • New graduates must obtain ARDMS certification in Abdomen within 1 year and OB/GYN within 2 years of hire.
  • Minimum one year of clinical experience preferred.
  • Adheres to all I CARE Standards.
  • Ability to produce high-quality ultrasound studies and maintain competency in all exams performed at BWFH.
  • High-risk OB/GYN scanning experience is preferred; must acquire competency within 6 months.
Working Conditions
  • Work may involve noisy environments and temperature/humidity variations.
  • Exposure to ionizing radiation.
  • Requires continuous standing, sitting, and lifting, with the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
