Job Title: Test Engineer – OMRS Delivery & Testing

Location: US Remote – extensive travel required.

About the Role

As a Test Engineer at Ocado Technology, you will execute Mapping and Business Acceptance Testing for Ocado’s OMRS (Mobile Robot System), OIA (Intelligent Automation), and OSP (Smart Platform) solutions. You will work with a global team to ensure high-quality, efficient, and cost‑effective testing across new and existing Customer Fulfillment Centers (CFCs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute mapping and business acceptance testing for OMRS, OIA, and OSP solutions.
  • Create and validate LiDAR, occupancy, and logical navigation maps for warehouses.
  • Review requirements, design and implement test cases, and generate test data.
  • Identify, record, and track defects using testing software applications.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and third‑party suppliers for successful system integration.
  • Report daily and weekly testing progress, risks, blockers, and next steps.
  • Lead and support team members, providing guidance, training, and problem‑solving.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, lessons learned, and best practices.
  • Ensure testing activities meet project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with customers to ensure best‑in‑class service is delivered.

The Test Engineer is responsible for the execution of Mapping and Business Acceptance Testing for Ocado’s OMRS (Ocado Mobile Robot System), OIA (Ocado Intelligent Automation), and OSP (Ocado Smart Platform) solutions at assigned project locations globally. Being part of a team of Test Engineers to fulfil the OMRS Delivery and Testing department’s deliverables and objectives, ensuring the provision of a high‑quality, efficient, professional, and cost‑effective testing service.

The role requires extensive travel to sites across the UK, EU, the US, and internationally. Extended stays away from home, including overseas assignments, will be necessary. A valid driving licence and the ability to travel internationally are essential.
