Job description

SMS Equipment is growing! We are looking for Heavy Equipment Technicians to join our team! In this role, you will find solutions, prioritize safety, and work with the largest, most advanced earthmoving equipment. You will be at the forefront, helping to keep those machines and the industry they serve moving! This role is located in Chicoutimi.

The shift for this role is 5x2.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Analyze breakdowns and failures, assess the nature of the repairs, and carry out repairs where necessary.
  2. Produce clear and complete repair reports, identifying the cause of failures.
  3. Order parts required for repairs.
  4. Adjust, repair, and/or replace defective parts using hand or power tools.
  5. Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with manufacturer requirements.
  6. Clean, lubricate equipment, and perform routine maintenance.
  7. Notify immediate supervisor and/or customer of all repairs required on units.
  8. Work in a safe manner.
  9. Maintain a clean work area and shop equipment in good condition.
  10. Follow Service Department policies and procedures.
  11. Attend training sessions as required.
  12. Complete work orders, sign off for billing, credit unused parts, and forward documents to the supervisor.
  13. Evaluate the impact of discussions with customers on the performance of SMS Equipment products.
  14. Assemble machines as required.
  15. Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess a Heavy Equipment Technician Certification. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

  • Valid driver's license
