Job description

Formwork contractor seeking experienced and business-minded Superintendent for large RC-frame mixed use projects in Vancouver. Salary $130,000 - $160,000. Outpost Recruitment is excited to work with our client on this full-time permanent role.The Superintendent is an integral member of the project team. Responsible for delivering construction projects of varying size and complexity. Focusing on structural works including formwork, concrete foundations and suspended slabs, rebar and architectural structures etc.

Duties & Responsibilities of Superintendent:

• Capable and can bring their own experience and ideas
• Pour tracking, how much concrete has been poured on a day to day basis and calculating the contact m2
• Managing setting out / project locates scopes as required
• Managing Field Engineers and their various activities, such as maintaining RFI's, PO's
• Procurement, deliveries, return of equipment
• Running appropriate team meetings weekly/daily
• Ensuring all project documents and files are maintained
• Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the project team
• Ensure clients’ needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and for developing this attitude in others.

Qualifications of Superintendent:

• Engineering or Project/Construction degree, relevant experience
• The Superintendent will have 7+ years of experience supporting the delivery of projects, at least 2-years of experience in Canada
• Concrete forming/placement experience required
• Proficient in MS Office Suite of products
• Familiarity with construction methods and the building codes
• Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills
• Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment
• Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
• Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills

Management Expectations:

• The Superintendent is willing to take part in additional specialty training for tools, equipment, instruments, and safety.
• Keen to take on responsibility and complete tasks in a timely and professional manner.
