Overview

The Co-op student, ICAT Infrastructure will be mainly involved in some upcoming Enterprise Network and Security projects in the summer, for example: Data Center Firewall Implementation, Wireless Network Refresh, Network Cabling Cleanup, Wired Network Refresh etc. This role will be also regularly working with clients, business partners, vendors and other team members to resolve incidents/problems, perform root cause analysis, and deliver infrastructure changes across the enterprise network security infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Contribute to enterprise network and security projects during the summer, including Data Center Firewall Implementation, Wireless Network Refresh, Network Cabling Cleanup, Wired Network Refresh, and related initiatives. Work with clients, business partners, vendors and team members to resolve incidents and problems, perform root cause analysis, and deliver infrastructure changes across the enterprise network security infrastructure.

What you must have
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelors degree program in the study of Computer or Engineering programs.
What else do you bring
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and common network protocols (LACP, OSPF, BGP etc.).
  • Knowledge of DHCP, IP Helper, SNMP etc. network management protocols.
  • Knowledge of Cisco switch, wireless controller, router etc. LAN/WLAN/WAN Infrastructure equipment.
  • Knowledge of network package capture and monitoring tools PRTG enterprise, Wireshark etc.
  • Knowledge of enterprise firewall and VPN remote access technologies.
  • Knowledge of Network Configuration Management (NCM) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow Incident and Change management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio/Power Point/Word/Excel etc. for network diagram, presentation and technical support document.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to learn and master new technology quickly and improve personal performance through continual self-study.
  • Flexibility with respect with work hours; may be required to work after-hours and at all sites of Mackenzie Health.
  • Proven attendance record.
  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
