Job description

Graymont is currently seeking for 2 summer students for our Havelock Plant. This is a great opportunity to work and learn in the lime mining industry. Graymont offers competitive pay in a safe and collaborative work environment.

Under the responsibility of the production supervisor, you will have assigned tasks using the tools and machines made available to you and respecting the highest standards in terms of health and safety and the environment.

The successful candidate must be comfortable in an industrial / mining / manufacturing environment and be comfortable with heavy industrial equipment and processes. The student must be proactive and motivated and with a bias for action and results.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow strict safety & environmental rules.
• Perform general work, such as cleaning, sweeping, painting, bagging, sampling, etc.
• Actively participate in developing improvements.
• Responsible for the good order of workplaces.
• Be able to be trained for day laborer.
• Ensure that the highest standards are met in terms of safety, environment, quality and efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Enrolled in studies for the fall 2023 session.
• Able to work on all shifts in rotation of 8 hour or 12 hour shifts (day / evening / night).
• Be in good physical shape and have the ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions.
• Ability to communicate efficiently with other team members and possess good organizational and decision making skills.
• Meticulous and able to work independently and safely.
