Huawei Canada invites a Strategic Researcher to join the Technology Planning and Cooperation Department for a 12‑month contract.

About the Team

The Technology Planning and Cooperation Department promotes strategic innovation across all of Huawei Canada. Working with fellow experts, the focus is researching new and upcoming areas of technology as well as strategic planning to help achieve long‑term vision of Huawei. This department offers a unique opportunity to leverage both technical and business skills.

Job Responsibilities
  • Exploit and conduct insight activities on new computing hardware technologies, especially chip technology, including memory subsystems, advanced packaging and interconnect technologies.
  • Analyze the potential value, technical breakthrough and technical difficulties of new technologies related to computing hardware.
  • Generate in‑depth technology and industry analysis reports, providing an overview reference for strategic decision‑making.
  • Track the latest technology achievements in related fields through international conferences, publications and business exhibitions.
  • Organize seminars and workshops in related fields and maintain regular technical exchanges with academic and business partners.
Ideal Candidate
  • Education: Electrical and Computer Engineering or related disciplines. Ph.D. is an asset.
  • Keen insight and analytical ability of computing hardware.
  • Experience: both academic and industrial institutions is an asset.
  • Strong teamwork and self‑learning capabilities.
  • General vision or professional connections to resources in the areas described above in North America, including research institutes, universities and companies is an asset.
