What You’ll Be Doing
The SNS team supports the Structured Notes business with the Calculation Agent duties across North America & Europe and assist with management reporting activities within the CFO Finance group. As a Senior Financial consultant, you will also act as a driver of change in terms of any possible process improvements & operational efficiencies across the Structured Notes program that benefits SNS in Finance and/or the Business.
How You’ll Succeed
- Support SNS activities and various ad-hoc requests - Coordinate the Calculation Agent function for the structured notes issued by the bank globally; review and explain settlement calculations; coordinate the resolution/escalation processes around differences between the independent and source system calculations; Accountable for the completeness and accuracy of all the calculations and determinations and settlement instructions made in connection with the structured notes.
- Develop and Maintain Relationships - Interact with Structured Notes Trading desk, Structuring, Sales, Treasury, Legal, and relevant Capital Markets teams with regards to Structured Notes operations as required.
- Be proactive and self-disciplined - Try to anticipate challenges and stay committed to deliver quality results in a timely fashion.
- Conceptual and Organizational Skills - Being able to see the “big picture” in a complex environment and translate your understanding and insights into a workable project plan
- Continued focus on Operational Efficiency - Actively support assigned project streams or responsibilities, providing SME support, ensuring the internal projects and CIBC wide projects pertaining to Structured Notes operations are partnered effectively, and executed upon.
Who You Are
- You can demonstrate experience working with Capital Markets products in a previous role in Finance, Accounting, or Product Control environment. It’s an asset if you have or are working towards a professional designation (CPA, CFA, FRM, MFin, etc.). Previous experience related to Capital Markets would be a plus as well.
