Your role:

  • Assisting with the preparation and review of various Canadian income tax returns (T1, T2, T3 returns)
  • Work with Tax Managers and Partners to develop and implement tax planning projects including research of tax issues and preparation of memoranda
  • Identify issues and errors with respect to Canadian income tax filings, investigate discrepancies and discuss with managers or engagement partners to develop resolutions
  • Correspond with clients and various government agencies to address and resolve client tax compliance issues
  • Prepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations
  • Collaborate with client engagement team prior to commencement of client work to discuss roles and responsibilities, risk areas, materiality and deadlines
  • Be a mentor to junior team members
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all client tax files and correspondence.
  • Preparation and presentation of technical sessions to firm staff
  • Provide personal, attentive service to clients to encourage productive working relationships and identify client service opportunities


What you bring to the table:

  • Completion of Bachelor’s Degree in either Business or Law
  • Intention to enroll or have enrolled in the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course and/or Master of Taxation Course
  • 3 – 5 years of accounting experience, tax experience considered an asset
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), Caseware/Caseview, TaxPrep, and tax research software
  • Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, project management and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and research skills, and the creativity to identify problems and potential solutions
  • Professional manner, strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to provide value-added service to clients and strong understanding of a client-focused fast paced work environment including related deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively pivot between tasks, prioritize and manage deliverables to meet conflicting deadlines
  • A passion for tax work!
