The Opportunity: WSP is currently seeking a Senior Hydrogeologists for our Hydrogeology and Geosciences Team in the Ontario Business Unit, supporting staff in WSP’s GGH and GTA offices. Reporting to the Team Lead, the successful individual will help manage and deliver existing projects, develop new business opportunities, and provide support to the Team. As a Senior Hydrogeologist with WSP, you will bring 15+ years of prior consulting firm experience working in the field of Hydrogeology, ideally within the Ontario marketplace. What you can expect to do here
- Senior guidance and review of background documentation, field investigations, data analysis, and reports to document findings:
- will require knowledge and full understanding of hydrogeological principles, including water balance, aquifer performance testing, hydrogeological interpretation, and groundwater-surface water interactions; and,
- Report writing and review must follow scientific principles with a clear and concise presentation of information in a manner that can be understood by the general public.
- Ensure high-quality technical work, including field methodology, reporting, and client deliverables;
- Collaborate with other disciplines within WSP with respect to multi-faceted/multi-disciplinary projects;
- Provide client development and excellent client management to existing and potential clients;
- Work with the team to develop new business through marketing initiatives and client management;
- Review and guide technical and financial proposals for both internal and external clients;
- Foster an atmosphere of continuous improvement through on-the-job coaching and guidance to intermediate and junior professionals;
- Proactively commit to creating a positive work climate;
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with good leadership and management abilities capable of communicating effectively with all parts of the business; and,
- Comply with and uphold Health and Safety standards, practices, and procedures.
What you\'ll bring to WSP
- Degree(s) specializing in Hydrogeology, Geological Engineering, Geosciences, or other related disciplines;
- Ontario licensed P.Eng. or P.Geo., or eligibility for a P.Eng. or P.Geo. in Ontario;
- Senior level of experience as a consultant within the industry with prior hydrogeological experience managing infrastructure, transportation, land development and other projects for both private and public clients;
- You are a passionate Hydrogeologist bringing an enthusiasm for technical excellence and teamwork to our Ontario group;
- You demonstrate expertise and working knowledge in multiple fields of study and are confident to influence, guide, and coordinate with various internal disciplines to ensure successful completion of a wide range of projects;
- You have proven success in client relationship management and strong leadership and motivational skills;
- Knowledge of the local market is a strong asset;
- Self-motivated, energetic, and well organized;
- Comfortable interacting with the public, clients, contractors, and co-workers;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexible to work on a wide variety of projects; tasks and assignments, responding easily to changing priorities;
- Excellent English (verbal /written) communication skills; and,
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, and to proactively respond to time-sensitive issues.
