Harbinger is working with a leading accounting firm in the Haldimand Ontario area, providing comprehensive accounting, tax, and advisory services to a diverse range of clients. We are committed to delivering exceptional value and expertise to help our clients achieve their financial goals. Our client, is a well-established public accounting firm in Simcoe, Ontario, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of client engagements, provide expertise in Notice to Reader (NTR) financial statements, and contribute to the growth of a collaborative and professional office environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and complete NTR financial statements, review engagements, and related files.
  • Lead multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Prepare working papers, adjusting journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Review files prepared by junior staff and provide guidance, training, and mentorship.
  • Prepare corporate, personal, and trust tax returns as required.
  • Communicate directly with clients, providing clear explanations of accounting and tax matters.
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards and firm policies.
  • Assist in business development opportunities and maintain strong client relationships.
Qualifications
  • CPA designation (or working toward completion).
  • 3–5+ years of experience in public accounting, preferably in a small to mid-sized firm environment.
  • Strong experience with NTR’s, review engagements, and tax compliance.
  • Proficiency in CaseWare, TaxPrep (or similar accounting/tax software).
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Must be available to work in-office in Simcoe, Ontario.
