Could you be the full-time Application Design Engineer – Supervision Control Center (SCC) in Toronto, ON we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your system engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, innovative, and dedicated teammates.

You'll play a central role in transforming the collective mobility of Canada’s busiest transit system, contributing to the success of the GO Expansion project. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as System Architecture, Design, Integration, Validation, and Cybersecurity), lead technical reviews, and ensure seamless integration and validation of complex systems.

You’ll specifically take care of designing system data-related architecture, managing system data-related requirements, and ensuring compliance with safety and cybersecurity standards, but also collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Write System data-related specifications Operational context description if applicable
  • Update data design documentation based on internal (peer) reviews or customer comments
  • Update and clarify the data-related specifications during the design, development, and mock-up presentation phases
  • Ensure the system data-related Architecture and design complies with the RAM, Safety and Cybersecurity requirements
  • Follow the ADDA (US process, ProofReading process, Delivery process, etc)
  • Interface with other system teams (ETCS, TMS, RBC, Iconis product, Turnkey, S&TC, Interlocking, Safety, Cyber, RAM, Quality, etc)
  • Define DataPrep plan.
  • Define, produce, and validate all SCC application data and parameters to customize a System / Sub-system for a given project/product.
  • Perform Data Preparation for ATS, SCADA and Security System based on the Design Document and Tools. Test DataPrep output.
  • Ensure configuration management for project data.
  • Provide feedback to inputs producers (System team, ATS Specification project team, ATS tools team)
  • Perform Integration between products, modules, Interfaces, including HMI, and data. Produce deployment tool.
  • Define documents and perform test such as Inspection & Test Plan/Integration Test Description/Integration Test Report (ITP/ITD/ITR) and its traceability.
  • Verify ITP/ITD/ITR to produce Test Description Verification Report (ITDVR).
  • Perform DyR to V&V team, providing status of version, functions added and restrictions. Provide integration data contributing to Verification & Validation (V&V) documentation. Initiate release note.
  • Support defect analysis to identify component causing issue (product, module, data, Human Machine Interface (HMI), etc.). Interface with producer to resolve.

  • Familiarity with ICONIS products (e.g., ATS CF, ATS CT, S2K-AGUI, S2K-UHMI)
  • Ability of technical decision making, sound judgment, assertiveness, problem solving
  • Knowledge of CyberSecurity & network principles, as well as distributed systems
  • Knowledge of VM Ware, SQL server basics
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools
  • Knowledge of Requirement management / writing requirements / tools (DOORS)
  • Ability to work transversally with engineering teams / system process AEC/User Story/Golden rules
  • Desirable knowledge of ETCS
  • Excellent communication skills in English
