About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Retail Store Manager to oversee daily operations at our licensed cannabis retail location. The ideal candidate is passionate about customer service, knowledgeable about cannabis products and regulations, and skilled at leading a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Hire, train, schedule, and supervise retail staff.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work culture built on professionalism and compliance.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
Operations & Compliance
- Ensure the store complies with all provincial and federal cannabis regulations.
- Maintain accurate records, including inventory tracking and reporting requirements.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all retail activities.
Customer Experience
- Deliver exceptional service to all customers, ensuring a welcoming and informative environment.
- Address customer concerns and questions in a professional, knowledgeable manner.
- Uphold a safe and responsible retail experience for all patrons.
Sales & Business Performance
- Monitor sales targets, KPIs, and business goals; implement strategies to meet or exceed them.
- Manage inventory levels, ordering, and vendor relationships.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
Financial & Administrative
- Oversee cash handling, POS systems, and daily reconciliations.
- Manage store budgets, expenses, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports to senior management.
Qualifications
- Previous retail management experience (cannabis, hospitality, or regulated industries preferred).
- Strong knowledge of cannabis products, consumption methods, and current regulations.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer and team relationships.
- Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management, and reporting tools.
- Must be 19+ (or provincial minimum age) and able to obtain all required cannabis retail certifications/licenses.
