Research Associate – Organic Chemist – Eurofins CDMO Alphora Inc.

The successful candidate will work on synthesizing organic compounds ranging from milligrams to kilograms, researching, developing, and implementing process technologies for the manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API’s).

Responsibilities
  • Work in a laboratory environment under the supervision of a Senior Scientist.
  • Plan and execute experiments in R&D laboratories.
  • Analyze data, interpret results, and document findings in development reports.
  • Develop inherently safe processes based on thermal hazard assessment.
  • Maintain a safe and well‑organized laboratory work area.
  • Transfer technology to both internal and external manufacturing facilities.
  • Scale up chemical processes to a 50 L reactor.
Qualifications
  • B.Sc. in Chemistry or a Diploma in Chemical Engineering Technology.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry is an asset.
  • Work experience in synthetic organic chemistry is an asset.
  • Knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry is an asset.
  • Highly motivated with a proven record of success in multiple projects.
  • Well organized and able to meet project timeline commitments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; works well in a multi‑disciplinary team environment.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
