A regional health authority in British Columbia is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide care in both the Acute Care Unit and Emergency Department. The ideal candidate will hold current BC College of Nurses registration and possess advanced emergency or obstetric training. Strong skills in patient care coordination, effective communication, and emergency response are essential. Reporting to the Clinical Coordinator, the Registered Nurse works between the Acute Care Unit and the Emergency Department as required; provides professional nursing care to patients as a member of a multidisciplinary team; is responsible and accountable for coordinating and administering direct patient care utilizing the nursing process; provides direction to staff and volunteers; and responds to emergency situations to safeguard patients, visitors and staff in accordance with the unit/program philosophy, competency guidelines, policies, and the BC College of Nurses and Midwives professional and practice standards.
Education, Training And Experience
Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives. Advanced preparation in emergency and/or obstetrics specialty training. Two (2) years\' recent related experience in medical/surgical, obstetrics, emergency/urgent care, neonatal resuscitation, emergency pediatrics or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
