GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

Duties include inspection of aerospace precision machining details, assemblies and special processes.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Perform inspection of precision parts and assemblies to customer drawings and specifications (using tools such as calipers, height gauges, plug gauges, CMMs, micrometers).
  • Generate First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102.
  • Generate Customer Required documents such as C of C’s for product.
  • Data collection and generation of non‑conformance reports.
  • Document/discuss unacceptable or inferior quality materials with internal and external parties and take corrective action.
  • Internal auditing of control plans and process conformance.
  • Participate in Kaizen events & 5S initiatives.
  • All other duties as assigned.
DIMENSIONS
  • Post‑secondary education in a related field. Certificate in Quality Assurance/Quality Technician preferred.
  • 2+ years inspection experience within the aerospace industry.
  • Ability to read blueprint drawings and specifications.
  • Adequate working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • ISO 9001 or AS9100 experience.
  • Six Sigma/5S Lean Manufacturing training (MPC, SPC, FMEA, Process Mapping).
  • Well versed in Geometric Tolerances.
  • CMM experience an asset.
  • Knowledge in Model Base Definition / Digital Product Definition an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical
  • Work is normally performed in a manufacturing environment.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  • Use of office equipment including computers, telephones, calculators, copiers and fax machines.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as hard hat, safety shoes, safety goggles, ear plugs, fitted dust mask, etc. as required.
Mental
  • Must be able to take on new assignments as required.
  • Must work under deadlines and related stresses in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to handle various personnel and other situations as they arise in a professional manner.
