We are looking for a Property Maintenance & Renovation Technician to join our team. This is a full-time role based in Geraldton, Ontario, where you will primarily oversee our motel“Between Bridges Inn”, along with a portfolio of other properties ranging from single-family rental homes to small motels.

We own and operate multiple hospitality and rental properties inGeraldton, Ontario. Our mission is to provide clean, safe, and welcoming spaces for our guests, tenants, and staff. Geraldton is a small but booming town, now home to the Equinox Gold Mine, which has recently begun production and is expected to support at least 15 years of steady community growth and employment opportunities.
THE KEY QUALITIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Strong hands-on skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general property repairs.
- Ability to work independently with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, motivated, and organized with attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills when working with tenants, guests, and contractors.
- Team player with a flexible, can-do attitude.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple maintenance and renovation projects.
- Comfortable responding to occasional after-hours or weekend emergencies.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as thelead technicianfor theIn Between Bridges Motel, ensuring it remains safe, functional, and welcoming.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs across various properties, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and drywall.
- Carry out small to medium-scale renovations (bathrooms, kitchens, flooring, trim, etc.).
- Complete seasonal property upkeep, including snow removal, lawn care, and light landscaping.
- Troubleshoot and repair common issues such as leaky faucets, faulty outlets, or minor appliance malfunctions.
- Coordinate and oversee specialized work completed by outside contractors.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment while following safety protocols.
- Provide regular updates on repair requests, project progress, and completion timelines.
WHAT’S REQUIRED
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in property maintenance, renovations, or general contracting.
- Solid working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general home/building repairs.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
- Flexibility to handle after-hours emergency calls when required.
- Hourly Rate:$30 – $35/hour (depending on experience and certifications).
