Position

Project Coordinator (Construction Department) – Permanent Full-Time

Overview

The Project Coordinator assists in all aspects of construction projects under the guidance and direction of the Senior Director, Construction & Facilities. The role will involve contributing to project planning, development, implementation and monitoring throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, the Project Coordinator will establish collaborative relationships with leaders and key stakeholders to coordinate activities necessary for project success.

Responsibilities
  • Work on various projects as assigned by the Senior Director, Construction and Facilities
  • Assist Project Manager in the development/maintenance of project schedules/work plans
  • Coordinate and manage projects with varying closing deadlines, prepare and compile relevant materials/data, and monitor timelines
  • Develop and maintain strong positive working relationships with internal and external contacts with regard to existing and future projects
  • Assume responsibility for the documentation, data management and communication of current assignments and maintain files for reference and project development
  • Participate and assist in producing reports such as surveys and background investigation for specific problems
  • Coordinate and participate in meetings and committees related to assigned projects
  • Prepare communication materials including, but not limited to status reports, briefing notes, presentations, and infographics to communicate project and portfolio milestones progression
  • Coordinate and prepare materials for project/committee/working group’s agendas, meetings and follow-up, as appropriate to project needs, both internally and externally with key stakeholders
  • Perform special projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • University degree or equivalent education/experience
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in a project coordinator role or a related functional area
  • Proficient with Windows OS: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or progression towards an asset
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
