Overview

Title: Project Accountant

Salary range: $95,000-105,000

Location: Mississauga (4 days onsite)

Role Summary

Join our client's expanding team as a Project Accountant and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial processes of their newly established division. This dynamic opportunity offers the chance to contribute to the development, implementation, and adherence to construction Project Accounting SOPs, ensuring seamless collaboration with the Accounting and Delivery teams. Your responsibilities will encompass entering, auditing, and analyzing financial transactions in designated systems, while continuously refining templates to maintain data integrity.

• Configure NetSuite and Procore for construction projects, including approval workflows and financial tool setup.
• Prepare month-end close entries, accruals, reconciliations, and quarterly job cost to GL reconciliations.
• Review and process POs, COs, and GC submissions while auditing transactions for accuracy in coding, allocations, and supporting documentation.
• Track and validate change orders, assist with GC pay applications, confirm percent complete, and provide supporting narratives.
• Manage lien waivers, customer invoice support packages, and ensure accuracy and consistency across financial documentation.
• Place assets in service, support PPE and sales tax audits, and collaborate with Accounting and auditors.

What we need from you

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Experience with NetSuite is an asset
• Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
