Job Summary:
The Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the Manager(s), leading and coordinating day-to-day operations, and teaching classes within the framework of VON philosophy, policies, procedures, standards, and quality management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the provision of cost-effective client services and programs.
- Assess clients for service needs, monitor service delivery, and contribute to program development, evaluation, and promotion.
- Develop and implement program plans to meet department needs.
- Facilitate older adult exercise classes and fall prevention education sessions at various Rest and Retirement Homes and community locations.
- Manage volunteers and staff within the program, including volunteer orientation, training, and in-services, adhering to VON Quality Management standards.
- Maintain regular engagement with clients and health partners to ensure programs meet community needs.
- Serve as a primary support contact between clients, health professionals, community support, and internal team members.
- Track and report the results of program plans and team efforts to supervisors and stakeholders.
- Support financial accountability by maintaining program budgets.
- Create and prepare financial and statistical reports for VON and funder obligations and program analysis.
- Complete Disaster and Emergency Drills according to VON policies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings as required.
- Practice in accordance with VON’s quality and risk management framework and occupational health and safety legislation.
- Participate in health and safety training, including WHMIS, and apply this knowledge in the workplace.
- Ensure timely reporting of workplace incidents in accordance with legislation and policies.
- Negotiate pricing with vendors and place service calls.
- Oversee daily office operations, source and order supplies, and support the CSS manager.
- Code and track expenses.
- Oversee daily tasks of the Administrative Assistant team.
- Collaborate with team members and community support partner agencies.
- Maintain current information and data, and consolidate statistical data ensuring accuracy.
External and Internal Relationships:
- Communicate and follow up promptly with clients and community partners/professionals.
- Maintain timely communication with internal staff.
Education, Designations, and Experience:
- Post-Secondary Diploma in Health/Social Science or equivalent qualifications.
- Experience teaching Senior's Fitness groups, both in person and virtually.
- 2-3 years in community and health-based care.
- 1-2 years in program planning and evaluation (asset).
- Experience in volunteer administration (asset).
- Understanding of not-for-profit healthcare environment (asset).

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
This role requires attention to detail in a dynamic environment, involving physical activities such as lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements emphasizing proper body mechanics. Tasks include walking, sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and fine hand movements throughout the day.
