Overview

Our client is a Canadian leader in corrugated and custom packaging solutions, serving a wide range of industries including food & beverage, retail, e-commerce, and industrial sectors. They specialize in the design and production of multiple products combining decades of industry expertise with advanced manufacturing capabilities. They are seeking a Plant Manager to lead operations at their Windsor facility. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day plant performance, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the highest levels of quality, efficiency, and safety.

Position Overview

The Plant Manager will be responsible for leading production teams, optimizing manufacturing processes, and ensuring that operational goals align with customer requirements and company growth objectives. This role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of corrugated / packaging production, and the ability to foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership: Oversee daily plant operations, including production, maintenance, scheduling, and logistics.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor supervisors and production staff to achieve performance goals while fostering a safe, collaborative workplace.
  • Process Optimization: Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure all packaging products meet customer specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Safety Oversight: Champion workplace health and safety policies, driving a zero-incident culture.
  • Resource Planning: Manage staffing, equipment, and materials to ensure production targets are met on time and within budget.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, design, and customer service teams to align plant capabilities with client needs.
  • Reporting & KPIs: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), prepare operational reports, and recommend improvements to senior leadership.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably within corrugated packaging, folding cartons, or print / packaging production.
  • Proven track record in plant or production management, with strong operational and people leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of corrugated manufacturing processes, converting equipment, and finishing operations.
  • Strong background in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively.
