Job description

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Global External Operations (GEO) team in a hybrid role based in North York. This position leads high‑visibility initiatives, including Technology Transfers with CMOs/CPOs and key Product Lifecycle Management (PLCM) activities. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, strategic execution capabilities, and extensive experience managing complex cross‑functional projects in the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector. You will collaborate with global teams and external manufacturing partners to ensure seamless execution and continuous product supply.

Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
  • Lead end‑to‑end GEO initiatives, including CMO/CPO Technology Transfers and PLCM projects.
  • Develop, manage, and track detailed project plans, timelines, and service budgets.
  • Ensure on‑time delivery of milestones, effective risk management, and adherence to regulatory and corporate standards.
  • Support PLCM activities such as process optimization and packaging/artwork updates.
Budget & Resource Management
  • Define and manage project budgets, resource requirements, and implementation strategies.
  • Monitor costs, forecast risks, and ensure efficient use of internal and external resources.
Stakeholder & Partner Management
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across Regulatory, R&D, Quality, MS&T, Supply Chain, and Finance.
  • Serve as a primary liaison with external manufacturing partners, resolving escalations and aligning expectations.
  • Present clear project updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Process Improvement
  • Identify process gaps and recommend best‑practice improvements within GEO project frameworks.
  • Support development of dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to track performance.
  • Mentor and coach Project Managers/Leaders on best practices in project execution and governance.
Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Pharmacy, or related field.
  • MBA, MSc, or PMP/PRINCE2 certification is an asset.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing, supply chain, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple complex cross‑functional projects independently.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, and risk management capabilities.
  • Proficiency with SAP, MS Project, enterprise project management tools, and MS Office.
Experience
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in pharma, biotech, or life sciences.
  • 5–10 years managing complex projects involving technology transfers, third‑party operations, or PLCM.
  • Demonstrated impact on operational efficiency and successful project delivery.
