A leading healthcare provider in Victoria seeks a Pediatric Mental Health Worker to provide client-centered and family-focused care for children with mental health and substance use concerns. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Social Science and recent related experience. Responsibilities include conducting assessments and promoting a safe environment. This role is essential in ensuring the dignity and respect of clients.

Reporting to the Program Coordinator or designate, the Pediatric Mental Health Worker contributes to the provision of client-centered and family-focused care for children and youth hospitalized with mental health and/or substance use concerns by completing patient assessments, providing related counselling, and reporting clients' conditions, including reactions to medications and activity monitoring the patient/client's environment and changes in baseline behaviors and moods to ensure safety. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), or Child and Youth Counsellor (CYC), the Pediatric Mental Health Worker promotes a safe, healthy and non-threatening environment that instills a sense of dignity and self-respect, and motivates, assists and instructs clients with the activities of daily living.
Education, Training And Experience
Graduation from a recognized degree program in Social Science plus one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
