Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform data input for sales, cash receipts, and disbursements.
  • Conduct general ledger reconciliations for bank accounts and credit cards.
  • Manage accounts receivable and payable, including collections.
  • Administer payroll and prepare tax remittances.
  • Prepare management reports and support external accountants.

Job Type: Part‑Time Bookkeeper – with potential for more work in the future

We are looking for an individual to join our small team as a bookkeeper and general office assistant. The candidate should possess strong communication, organization, and office skills, be able to work independently, and be flexible with hours, responsibilities, and duties.

Job Responsibilities
  • Data input of sales, cash receipts and disbursements
  • General ledger reconciliations including bank accounts, credit cards and clearing accounts
  • Bank deposits
  • Accounts receivable
  • Accounts payable
  • Collections
  • Payroll administration and reconciliation
  • Understanding, preparing and remitting GST source deductions, corporate tax and EHT
  • Preparing reports for management
  • Coordinating with and assisting external accountants
  • Overseeing internal office administration and coordination
  • Coordinate with advertising agency
Required Experience & Skills
  • Proficiency with Excel and MS Word
  • Experience with A/P, A/R, bank & G/L reconciliation, payroll and inventory
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Strong English written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to adapt to new software systems
  • Very good analytical and problem‑solving skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Bookkeeping experience: 3+ years
  • Post‑secondary accreditation in accounting or bookkeeping
  • Experience with QuickBooks Pro accounting program
