PROGRAM: Hospital – Rehabilitation

HRS OF WORK: Day shifts (may include weekends)

RATE OF PAY: Start Rate After 9 Months After 18 Months

POSITION SUMMARY

The OTA / PTA works under the direction and supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist to engage clients / patients through therapeutic mobilization care plan and self-care activities to improve or maintain function. The OTA / PTA delivers safe and client-centered care while maintaining the practice standards of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) and the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO).

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate from a formal training program in Occupational Therapy Assistant and Physiotherapy Assistant at a Ministry of Education approved community college.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience working with functionally challenged patients preferred
  • Demonstrates good communication, accountability, organization and interpersonal skills
  • Time management skills
  • Adaptable to handling changing workloads
  • Demonstrates commitment towards learning new skills
  • Demonstrates ability to function as a team member
  • Good attendance record
  • Physical ability to perform tasks associated with the job
