Qualifications
- Registration (member in good standing) with the provincial College of Occupational Therapists.
- Experience treating clients with physical and/or mental health conditions.
- Ability to work autonomously; able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to post-graduate professional development; FCE training is an asset.
- Experience supporting auto insurance, long term disability, and WCB referrals is an asset.
- Experience supporting occupational rehabilitation is a strong asset.
Key Functions and Responsibilities
- Assess the client’s physical and/or cognitive functioning within the clinic setting. Common assessments include: job demands analyses, functional capacity evaluations, cognitive abilities evaluations, ergonomic assessments, attendant care, and pre-employment assessments.
- Create and implement individualized treatment plans based on analysis and clinical reasoning.
- Educate clients on safe body mechanics, cognitive behavioral strategies, and functional tolerance activities.
- Support return-to-work programs (job coaching, accommodation recommendations).
- Utilize e-charting software to document treatment sessions; submit reports to stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Participate in case conferences and case management.
- Collaborate with the inter-professional team at your clinic.
- Supervise Occupational Therapy students (as preferred).
- Network with all stakeholders to promote Lifemark OT programs.
- Manage caseload in a fast-paced environment.
