Africa World Market is Canada’s first Afro-Caribbean supermarket chain! With just under 20,000 square feet of retail space, our flagship location carries a wide selection of carefully selected Afro-Caribbean, Latin American and Asian specialty foods, meats, and fresh produce at the best possible prices. Plus, shop a large variety of household essentials, home décor, beauty products, accessories, and more! We also have a wholesale distribution center specializing in retail and food service.

We are currently looking for experienced Merchandisers to join our team!

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and execution of merchandising resets and strategies
• Stock, arrange, price, and replenish products on shelves and in coolers to ensure customers find what they need
• Assemble/set-up displays and store fixtures
• Perform walkthrough at the start and end of each shift and provide feedback to Store Management
• Ensure all products are merchandised, priced, and labeled correctly to maximize sales
• Identify, document and remove any damaged or expired products from shelves
• Maintain overall image of the store, including cleanliness, displays, signage, labels, pricing, shelf layouts, etc.
• Inventory management
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' merchandising experience; preferably in a high-volume grocery, retail or warehouse environment
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have reliable transportation
• Able to read and follow planograms
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Open availability
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent time management skills and a commitment to meeting tight deadlines
• Detail-oriented and extremely well organized
• Eye for visual presentation
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Fluency in English and French an asset

Must be able to work 30 hours per week.
