Overview

As a Manager, Underwriting, you work to effectively identify and manage risks associated with equipment financing transactions. You support the completion of lease transactions by collaborating with Equipment Financing Specialists (EFS), Credit Advisory Group (CAG)/Group Risk Management (GRM), Equipment Financing Service Centre members, and RBC Enterprise Groups to realize RBC Equipment Finance growth priorities.

Opportunity
  • As part of the leasing “centre of expertise”, deliver innovative and effective lease solutions to clients. This will include investigation, formulation and completion of lease structures and in the valuation of equipment.
  • Present comprehensive and well-written Equipment Financing solutions, working collaboratively with partners (EFS, CAG, GRM) to ensure any risks associated with equipment financing transactions are identified and mitigated in accordance to RBC equipment financing product policies and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with your partners to make the most of every interaction, documenting key points in the system, meeting immediate needs in a timely fashion and taking action to solve and prevent problems.
  • Take ownership and resolve client impact concerns and requests at first point of contact, escalate to your manager in a timely manner to ensure minimal impact to their experience and ensure all activities are accurately completed within service level agreements.
  • Leverage the expertise of key contacts in Tax, Legal, GRM, Commercial Markets and Capital Markets to enhance lease-structuring capabilities.
  • Build capabilities across RBC Equipment Finance by sharing best practices, coaching and assisting colleagues for individual and team success.
What do you need to succeed?

Must to have:

  • Experience in commercial lease financing, including knowledge of lease and conditional sale documentation required to properly secure a finance transaction.
  • Broad knowledge of equipment, as to values, rates of depreciations, useful life and application, ability to read and understand equipment appraisals.
  • Knowledge of security registration in Canada and credit terminology.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid work arrangement – 3 days in office.
