Manager or Senior Manager - IFRS Reporting. Internal title : Senior Associate / Principal. Location : Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Salary : CA$130,000 - CA$160,000. Posted two weeks ago.
Responsibilities
- Coaching clients through the process of converting to IFRS and reporting under IFRS on a go forward basis.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of clients’ businesses in order to identify and summarize IFRS differences.
- Drafting the notes to the annual and interim financial statements.
- Drafting the interim and annual MD&A.
- Working with clients’ legal and banking teams in the preparation of financial information for prospectus documents and other regulatory filings (pro forma financial statements, carve-out financial statements).
- Preparing full Microsoft Excel models to convert client financial statements and note disclosures to IFRS with clear audit trail and journal entries to facilitate knowledge transfer.
- Working with the auditors to ensure timely and surprise-free audit clearance and early identification of key issues.
- Researching and drafting technical position papers.
- Assist other Triton teams on due diligence, transaction services and M&A projects where deep accounting and reporting knowledge is key to identifying issues that could impact value.
What We Are Looking For
- Preparation of quarterly and annual IFRS financial statements for regulatory bodies.
- Preparation of MD&A and notes to the financial statements.
- Technical accounting research and preparation of accounting policy memos as required.
- Advanced hands-on knowledge of IFRS and conversions to IFRS.
- Liaison with external auditors.
- Regular interaction with C-Suite.
- Ability to multitask and meet tight reporting deadlines in a constantly changing and dynamic environment.
- University degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business.
- 6+ years of experience in a Big 4 accounting firm specializing in publicly traded clients who report under IFRS.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- ASPE and US GAAP knowledge is a plus.
