Overview

We are looking for a Manager, Financial Reporting to join our Corporate-Finance team in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Controller, Corporate, you will be responsible for leading the preparation and filing of all external financial reports ensuring compliance with IFRS. This role collaborates closely with senior leadership, auditors, and cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity and timeliness of financial disclosures.

Responsibilities
  • Manage quarterly and annual filings
  • Oversee preparation and review of financial statements, MD&A, and Annual Information Form
  • Perform variance analysis to explain financial results and trend for senior management and reports to the Board of Trustees
  • Lead implementation of new accounting standards as applicable and ensuring compliance with IFRS and other applicable regulatory requirements
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes. Review and approve month-end and year-end journal entries. Ensure that adjusting, recurring, and non-routine journal entries are correctly recorded. Verify that journal entries align with financial statements and disclosures.
  • Coordination of internal control testing, design, and implementation of internal controls
  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide required financial documents
  • Management of tax remittances and filings, as well as other tax filings and projects
  • Involvement in the preparation and review of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Project work including process improvements and automation efforts
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and training to the corporate accounting team
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Designated accountant
  • 7+ years of experience, with at least 3 years in IFRS reporting
  • Public accounting and REIT experience strongly preferred
  • Strong technical accounting and IFRS reporting knowledge
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • System proficiency in Yardi and Workiva considered an asset
  • Tax experience considered an asset
