This is a 6 month term position.

Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity aims to inspire everyone who attends our programs – artists, leaders, and thinkers – to unleash their creative potential.

The Opportunity

Marketing and Communications plays a key role in supporting Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity’s strategic goals and public profile. The Manager, Digital Marketing leads the planning, execution, and analysis of digital marketing campaigns, managing the paid advertising budget and using data‑driven insights to promote programs, events, conferences and content. The role collaborates closely with other Digital Marketing team members, and the wider marketing and communications team, and supports a range of campaigns, from arts and cultural events to participant recruitment and international ticket sales.

Roles And Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive paid digital marketing strategies that align with organizational goals and target audience demographics.
  • Analyze market trends and audience insights to inform campaign strategies and improve engagement.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of paid advertising campaigns across platforms such as Google, (Meta) Facebook, Instagram, and other relevant digital channels.
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyzing key metrics to assess effectiveness and make data‑driven adjustments as necessary.
  • Manage the digital marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize ROI and other key performance indicators.
  • Track and report on campaign spending and performance against budgetary goals.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to guide creative needs from a data driven perspective.
  • Ensure all marketing materials are consistent with the organization’s brand voice and messaging.
  • Create digital design for related assets.
  • Embrace testing and a culture of learning around content placement, creative refresh, and iterative content creation.
  • Utilize audience segmentation and targeting to deliver personalized marketing messages that increase engagement and ticket sales.
  • Implement A/B testing strategies to refine and improve ad performance continuously.
  • Utilize analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights) to track campaign performance and generate comprehensive reports for stakeholders. Prioritize actionable learnings and telling the story of the data.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve future marketing efforts.
  • Work closely with the events team to ensure marketing strategies align with upcoming performances and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and agencies as needed to enhance marketing efforts.
  • Manage external partner performance within the parameters of the role.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends in digital marketing, particularly in the event and arts sectors.
  • Implement industry best practices to continually improve campaign effectiveness and audience engagement.
Qualifications And Educational Requirements
  • University degree or college diploma in communications, marketing, public relations or a related field; or relevant acquired experience.
  • Minimum 5 years ‘experience working in a web/digital marketing environment, including hands‑on understanding of current trends in web technologies, digital marketing, SaaS solutions, analytics and social media.
  • Strong understanding of social media, content marketing, web and email marketing best practices.
  • Experience in user experience, web navigation, UX/UI, wireframes and mockups.
  • Experience with CRM environments.
  • Proficient in web development tools including HTML, CSS, JQuery, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, XD as well as experience with video editing software, Flash or HTML5 animation. Familiarity with best practices in Information Architecture.
  • Extensive experience with Google Analytics, Tag Manager, SEO/SEM, MS Office.
  • Highly motivated self‑starter.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Social Media analytics (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linked In) an asset.
  • Digital Advertising Experience an asset.
  • Experience with online content management systems (WordPress /Drupal) SEO, Proficiency with, MailChimp or other email marketing software (ie/ Constant Contact) as well as list management (database experience an asset).
  • Bilingual (French, English) an asset.
Employment Terms and Benefits
  • In accordance with the terms of employment governing Management/PSP employees, this is a salaried, fulltime position, subject to a 6-month probationary period.
  • The salary range for this position is $68,714 - $102,040 based on experience.
  • This is a 6 month term position.
  • The successful candidate will enjoy twenty paid vacation days and four personal days annually, pro‑rated for this term.
