Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and deciding client borrowing requests / transactions within delegated lending authorities (DLA) with focus on balancing revenue maximization and an appropriate risk profile. You will ensure the safety and soundness of RBC funds through strong judgment and analytical skills guided by RBC risk policy adherence. You will assess risk respecting the discipline imposed by bank policies and maintain Client First Focus. You will make decisions on exceptions to credit principles, rules and guidelines as required, with all applications credit scored.
What will you do?
- Adjudication Associate provides approval, decline or negotiation of credit applications / transactions within specifically assigned DLA and related accountabilities, ensuring timely delivery of credit decisions.
- Serve as a functional technical / product / operational expert and act as escalation and/or referral point for quick problem solving.
- Adjudicate credit from various delivery channels (e.g., Vendors, Brokers, Direct Sales) advising client of the decision.
- Follow standard RBC lending policy and procedure guidelines.
- Act as credit and product specialist and, in the normal course of adjudicating files, provide ongoing coaching for sales unit employees and peers to support credit quality and credit process risks as well as opportunity spotting for sales.
- Within established authorities and accountabilities, complete full verification function. Review transaction / source document details including authorizations, contracts and other documents ensuring: transaction details are clearly outlined/defined; documents are vetted to comply with product/service and form completion / legal requirements, eligibility and limit criteria and authorized policy; clear approval terms and conditions are specified so that documentation obtained can be audited.
- Exercise judgment in making decisions, with escalations to appropriate levels.
- Work requires continual reacting and adapting to change. Process work volumes as measured through established service quality standards and follow Coaching Routines to drive high performance and enhance client experience.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have :
- Experience in delivering customer service excellence in a call handling environment.
- Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly do business with partners across Canada.
- Prior credit experience and a demonstrated ability to apply credit principles.
- Ability to work independently and interact effectively within a team.
- A drive to work efficiently in a fast paced environment.
