A local school board in Ontario is looking for an Educational Assistant to support students with special needs. Staff already in a Long Term Occasional (LTO) assignment are not eligible to apply if the posting would conflict with their current LTO. All Long Term Occasional assignments are subject to a revised end date with 2 weeks notice.

Qualifications/Requirements
A condition of employment as an EA/CYW with the Waterloo Region District School Board requires that one must pass a Physical Demands test. All job offers will be conditional on the candidate passing all components of this test. This applies to any EA/CYW that does not already have Permanent/LTO level D hours.

Screening, Police Record Checks and Compliance
Under the staff screening and police record checks, employees working in licensed child care programs are required to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) issued by a Police Service on or before every fifth anniversary after the date of the most recent VSC. Employees are also required to complete an annual offence declaration. Educators working in Before and After School Programs are required to complete a VSC request through the local police service and submit the original electronic copy for review. Employees must have a valid first aid and CPR certificate or be registered to update training within the year.
