Job summary

A logistics company in Bolton, Ontario, is seeking a Truck Driver to manage routes, load and unload goods, and perform inspections and maintenance on vehicles. Candidates must have an AZ class license and be ready for temporary employment with flexible working hours. Training will be provided. English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Tasks
  • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
  • Load and unload goods
  • Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Pay and receive payments for goods
  • Perform brake adjustments
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption

  • AZ class license
