Qualifications

  • Enrolled in or graduated from a culinary program.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Line Cook.
  • Current Food Safe certification (or equivalent).

  • Work effectively in team environments; execute dishes to the exact standards set by the Executive Chef.
  • Contribute to an exceptional culinary experience for winery guests.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of menu ingredients and suppliers.

Your Culinary Journey :

At Mission Hill Family Estate our culinary program is dedicated to the sourcing and promotion of local sustainable seasonal food. Our Cuisine du Terroir approach lends itself to a light-handed manner of preparation that respects the character of the ingredient and where it is sourced. Our varietal and herb gardens are steps away from our kitchens and we educate and encourage our team members to explore foraging opportunities that lay at our doorstep.

We strive to ensure our team acquires the knowledge and appreciation of the valley and the winery needed to surpass our guests expectations. Each team member will have the opportunity to hone their culinary skills and develop professional relationships that will last a lifetime while working with our accomplished and celebrated culinary team.

The Life of a Line Cook :

  • Demonstrate a genuine interest in pursuing a career in the culinary arts
  • Ability to work effectively in team environments
  • Execute dishes to the exact standards as set by Executive Chef
  • Ensure consistency with all production to Mission Hill quality standards
  • Contribute to an exceptional culinary experience for all winery guests
  • Demonstrate a strong knowledge of the menu ingredients and suppliers
  • Contribute to menus and daily fresh sheets
  • Work in a clean and organized manner

What Were Looking For :

  • Enrolled in or graduated from a culinary related program
  • At least 2 years of experience in similar role
  • Strong cooking techniques
  • Proven understanding of and a sincere interest in developing food and wine pairing knowledge
  • Current Food Safe certification (or equivalent)
  • You thrive in ambiguity and are comfortable with change
  • You put trust in others and never let anyone down
  • You listen take feedback respond quickly and take initiative with a sense of urgency
  • You are authentic diplomatic thoughtful and always have the best intentions
