Our client, Éco Entreprises Québec (ÉEQ), is a private, non-profit organization responsible for modernizing curbside recycling. Founded in 2005, it is now the designated management organization for the entire curbside recycling system in Québec and represents companies that market packaged products, containers, and printed materials in fulfilling their obligations under extended producer responsibility (EPR). As an expert in the management of recyclable materials in Québec, it works with all stakeholders in the curbside recycling chain to reduce waste at the source, promote the use of recyclable materials, and implement innovative, effective approaches that are both environmentally and financially sound.
To effectively meet its needs, ÉEQ is looking for a Legal Counsel to join its team.
You will spend a significant portion of your time negotiating, drafting, and reviewing various contractual documents and calls for tenders involving municipalities, companies, sorting centers, recyclers, carriers, and more. You will advise the various internal units and support them in the company’s transformation and the broader responsibilities now assigned to it, working on matters primarily related to commercial law, while also covering municipal law, governance, corporate law, and more. On occasion, you may also be asked to advise Human Resources on employment law matters in a non-unionized context.
Do you want to give meaning to your practice by contributing to the growth of an organization with a mission directly focused on environmental preservation? If you have relevant experience in business law, ideally including commercial law, are a member of the Barreau du Québec or the Chambre des notaires, and are bilingual, contact us today. Experience in municipal or Indigenous law will be considered an asset. Ref.: #33999
