Job summary

A veterinary services provider in Ontario offers an externship for veterinary students to gain hands-on experience in a supportive clinical environment. Students will work alongside a team of veterinarians and support staff, participating in patient care, diagnostics, and surgical procedures. This externship provides unique exposure to day-to-day operations in large animal practice, primarily focusing on equine and dairy. Eligible students may receive a travel/living expense stipend to support their experience.

Qualifications

• Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible.
• Hands-on experience in physical exams, diagnostics, and treatment plans.
• Opportunity to practice communication skills with the medical team and clients.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the supervising veterinarian.
• Gather patient histories and perform physical exams.
• Assist in surgical procedures and medical management of patients.
