Key Account Manager, Vans

Mercedes-Benz is seeking a dynamic professional to lead the development and execution of a robust and forward-thinking Fleet Sales and Corporate Fleet Strategy for Mercedes-Benz Vans, driving performance at both the wholesale and retail levels. The role focuses on maximizing sales and profitability across key performance indicators, while ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and compliance standards.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate marketing/events budget and initiatives with the Marketing & Product Manager, negotiate with publications, and execute marketing materials strategy. You’ll also participate in product launches, marketing events, and fleet conferences, occasionally traveling to HQ or other locations. (20%)
  • Initiate, develop, and execute event strategy for corporate sales-specific events, supporting both local and national initiatives alongside dealers and the National Corporate Sales team. (15%)
  • Prospect new commercial fleet clients by mining internal databases and networking at industry events, with a focus on industries transitioning to electrification. Find long term sustainable strategic fleet customers who will build Aftersales business as well. (20%)
  • Maintain and update the internal CRM database and manage RFPs for international fleet accounts in coordination with global teams. (5%)
  • Collaborate with Sales Operations Managers to enhance “fleet at retail” strategies, including training, analysis, and month-end reporting. (10%)
  • Act as the primary contact for commercial fleet management companies, ensuring seamless communication and support. (10%)
  • Support the National Sales Manager with daily rental operations and provide regular reporting (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual). Your schedule will be balanced between office-based tasks—such as deal follow-ups and process checks—and field visits to customers and prospects. (10%)
  • Work with Mercedes-Benz Vans USA to leverage strategic commercial lists and pursue small to medium B2B fleet opportunities. (10%)
Qualifications
  • Mercedes-Benz Star skills, requirements & traits: To thrive in this role, you bring a blend of strategic thinking, sales acumen, and marketing insight. Your qualifications include:
  • Post-secondary education in Business or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the automotive industry—ideally in commercial vehicles.
  • Proven marketing expertise and familiarity with OMVIC certification; bilingualism (French/English) is a strong asset.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and coaching skills, paired with excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • High level of initiative and adaptability, with the ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems; SAP knowledge is considered an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
