About The Role

We’re currently seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer/EIT to join our Energy and Oil & Gas projects team, based in either Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta. This is a permanent position where you’ll have the chance to apply your expertise while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a supportive, people-first environment.

Job Summary

As an integral member of the Electrical Engineering team, the Junior Electrical Engineer will support the planning, design, and implementation of electrical systems for infrastructure and energy projects across global markets. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and sustainable engineering solutions aligned with industry standards and client expectations.

What You’ll Do

• Design & Documentation – Assist in developing electrical system designs, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and control systems.
• Prepare technical drawings, schematics, and layouts using general design software tools.
• Support the creation of project documentation such as single-line diagrams, cable schedules, and equipment specifications.
• Project Support – Collaborate with senior engineers to perform load calculations, short circuit studies, and equipment selection.
• Participate in site surveys, inspections, and commissioning activities as required.
• Contribute to project planning, including timelines, budgets, and resource coordination.
• Collaboration & Communication – Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, project managers, and external consultants. Participate in technical meetings and design reviews to support the successful execution of projects. Communicate effectively to gather technical input and relay engineering information across disciplines.
• Compliance & Standards – Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and client specifications. Assist with internal quality control checks and peer reviews to maintain high engineering standards. Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to electrical engineering in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2-4 years of experience in electrical engineering for oil and gas facilities.
• Familiarity with general electrical design and analysis software (e.g., CAD, modeling, and calculation tools).
• Basic understanding of electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
• Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
