A community arts organization in Calgary seeks contract-based Drama Class Instructors for winter 2021. Instructors will engage youths in a variety of drama education topics while ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Ideal candidates possess supervisory experience, communication skills, and a passion for creative learning. The position offers compensation of $18–$20 per hour based on experience.
The Pumphouse Theatre is now accepting applications for contract‑based instructors for our winter 2021 drama education programs. The Pumphouse is a vibrant historic facility that supports and presents all art forms and creates opportunities for engagement, enrichment, cultural experience, learning and inspiration, while serving all Calgarians.
We offer a wide range of drama education opportunities for youth, fostering imagination, freedom to explore creativity, a healthy sense of play and a lifelong appreciation for the arts. Our drama classes cover acting, improvisation, creative movement, voice, sound, storytelling and playwriting, and aim to develop social interaction and life skills through theatrical techniques.

Instructors will work under the guidance of the Programming Director to create, plan, and execute the course‑based curriculum for the semester. Successful applicants will:

The Pumphouse Theatre will adhere to all COVID‑19 health and safety guidelines for the duration of its programming. Instructors must follow protocols including hand‑washing, social distancing and mask wear during classes.
