Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Investment Analyst to join a growing investment team. This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure to both direct investment oversight and the buildout of a multi-manager investment platform across public and private markets.

The role will focus on reporting and monitoring, with additional exposure to manager research, due diligence, and portfolio construction. The successful candidate will work closely with senior team members, receiving guidance and mentorship, while also operating with a high degree of independence—leading workstreams, taking initiative, and developing efficient, scalable processes that produce client-ready reports and analyses.

Responsibilities

Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  • Utilize custodian data, industry platforms, manager materials, and internal research to produce investment reporting and performance analysis across portfolios.
  • Prepare client-ready reporting packages, including quarterly and semi-annual board reports, client reporting, and monthly internal presentations.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to refine commentary, highlight key insights, and support strategic messaging across all reporting deliverables.

Manager Research & Monitoring

  • Support the sourcing, due diligence, and ongoing monitoring of investment managers across asset classes.
  • Coordinate and update due diligence questionnaires (DDQs) and track key performance and strategy metrics.
  • Participate in manager calls, analyze investment strategies, and contribute to commentary and internal assessments.
  • Conduct market research to contextualize manager performance and strategy alignment.

Portfolio Administration

  • Assist with rebalancing, trade execution, and onboarding documentation.
  • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial reconciliations between custodians, finance, and investment managers.
  • Develop and maintain administrative workflows and records in collaboration with the investment team.

Portfolio Construction & Strategy Support

  • Participate in building and refining asset allocation tools, including optimization models, scenario analysis, and stress-testing frameworks.
  • Conduct portfolio construction analysis by evaluating exposures, risk factors, and strategy fit across client types.
  • Work closely with senior team members to ensure tools and outputs align with investment objectives and decision-making needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field; progress toward the CFA designation is an asset.
  • 1–3 years of experience in investment analysis, portfolio reporting, or a related role.
  • Strong analytical, written, and communication skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); advanced Excel skills (e.g., formulas, VBA, macros) or experience with coding (Python, R, or similar) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with custodian data platforms and industry databases is a plus.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, initiative, and collaborative mindset; ability to manage multiple priorities.
