Description

We are an active family with two children (ages 7 and 9) and a small dog, looking for a proactive and reliable House Manager & Personal Assistant to keep our home and family running smoothly. With both parents working full time, we're seeking someone who is organized, flexible, and confident with children, while also managing household logistics, errands, and meal prep.

This is a dynamic role for someone who enjoys variety in their day, can anticipate needs, and thrives on taking initiative. You'll become an essential support system for our family — handling daily tasks, helping with after-school routines, and ensuring our household runs efficiently.

Ideal Candidate

You are organized, patient, and proactive, with strong follow-through. You're confident with children who have big personalities and can set kind but firm boundaries. You're tech-savvy, a safe driver (comfortable in winter driving), and bring strong executive functioning skills to juggle schedules, errands, and household details. You're someone we can count on to step in, take initiative, and keep things running smoothly — often before we even ask.

Key Responsibilities

Household Management & Organisation

  • Maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys)
  • Reset and tidy rooms daily; prep for cleaners (2–3 weeks)
  • Oversee family calendars and schedules
  • Conduct seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding)
  • Prepare for holidays, events, and guests
  • Coordinate donations and pickups
  • Support packing / unpacking for family travel

Errands & Inventory Management

  • Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, and supplies
  • Coordinate and manage household orders
  • Manage errands: groceries, dry cleaning, returns, gift shopping
  • Handle package pickup, mail sorting, courier items, deposit checks, deliveries, etc.

Meal Prep & Kitchen Support

  • Prep simple, healthy meals / snacks for kids
  • Pack school lunches and snacks
  • Grocery shop for weekly meals and staples
  • Wash / cut vegetables, manage kitchen tidiness

Family & Child Support

  • School and activity pick-ups / drop-offs (30 minutes each way)
  • Prep backpacks, clothing, and snacks
  • Light supervision and support after school
  • Transport to appointments (dentist, orthodontist, speech, activities, etc.)

Laundry & Linen Care

  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (clothing, bedding, towels)
  • Iron / steam clothing and prepare outfits as needed
  • Manage linens and rotate bedding

  • Manage vet scheduling (1–2x / year)
  • Keep pet supplies stocked and organized

Additional Support

  • Coordinate with service providers / vendors (handymen, landscapers, cleaners, etc.)
  • Manage vehicle upkeep (fueling, charging, maintenance, seasonal tires)
  • Support occasional deep cleaning & outdoor projects (fridge, oven, baseboards, weeding garden, cleaning deck)
Additional Information
  • Vehicle provided for on-duty driving
  • Flexibility for occasional late evenings appreciated
  • Opportunity for growth: support in family business and / or expanded cooking responsibilities (macro meal plan 4 meals / week for parents)
