Overview

Full-Time Hospitalist

The Division of Family Medicine at Quinte Health Belleville General Hospital is seeking hospitalist physicians to join a great collegial and supportive team!

Responsibilities

• Inpatient care on our medicine, rehab, integrated stroke, and ALC units, and call. Experience caring for acute inpatients is an asset.
• Provide 24-hour support in collaboration with internal medicine, intensive care, general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, paediatrics, anesthesia, obstetrics and gynaecology, psychiatry, otolaryngology, and radiology.
• Utilize diagnostic imaging on site (Ultrasound, CT and MRI).

Schedule and Workload

• NEW – Monday to Sunday schedule.
• Full-time minimum of 20–26 weeks per year with additional opportunities available.
• Call is a requirement.

Academic and Collaboration Opportunities

Considering proximity to Kingston, and the Belleville-Quinte Family Medicine Program, many physicians are affiliated with Queens University as Assistant Professors and regularly participate in resident training.

Compensation and Work Structure

Hospitalist work at BGH bills $10,000–$15,000 per week (7 days, with 2–3 calls in or out of hospital week depending on preference), which includes a stipend as well as all FFS billings. Hospital EMR is Cerner.

Supervision and Growth

Supervision may be available. Opportunities may exist to combine work with community practice in one of the local FHOs.

Recruitment Programs

The Belleville Family Physician Recruitment Program offers medical students up to $150,000 in return for a five-year commitment of full-time service to a community practice and hospitalist work is encouraged.
