Qualifications

  • Exposure to U.S. GAAP and U.S. Federal/State tax compliance considered a strong asset.
  • Experience with transfer pricing between Canadian and US operations considered an asset.

About the Opportunity
  • Lead the month-end and quarter-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and general ledger management.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, as well as US foreign subsidiary accounting and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare timely and accurate interim and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Assist in preparation of the annual budget and forecast in collaboration with the CFO
  • Manage the budget throughout the year and review variances
  • Coordinate the annual audit process and support the preparation of Canadian and U.S. tax returns with external auditors and accountants.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian tax reporting obligations and maintain awareness of relevant U.S. Federal and State requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal financial controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and efficiency within the accounting department.
  • Manage reporting of capital assets
  • Provide accurate and insightful financial reports to management to support decision-making.
  • Partner with Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and Logistics to support inventory counts, valuation, capital planning, and financial analysis.
About You
  • CPA designation required.
  • 5- 10 years progressive financial and accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards, direct and indirect tax compliance.
  • Exposure to U.S. GAAP and U.S. Federal/State tax compliance considered a strong asset.
  • Experience with transfer pricing between Canadian and US operations considered an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI an asset.
  • Strong decision making, problem-solving and communication skills
  • High level of professional judgement, discretion and attention to detail
Salary Range

$125,000 - $135,000/year
