Financial Analyst – 1 Year Contract | Hybrid (Toronto)

Our client in the financial services industry is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their finance team. This role is key in supporting financial reporting and analysis, ensuring the accuracy of data across multiple business units.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Budgeting, the Financial Analyst will prepare detailed financial reports, analyze budget variances, and support forecasting processes. You will also work with data from various financial systems to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports across business lines.
  • Consolidating financial data into clear, actionable reports for leadership.
  • Conducting variance analysis and providing insights to department managers.
  • Supporting annual budget preparation and ongoing forecasting.
  • Assisting with compliance, audits, and internal controls requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • CPA designation (completed or in progress) is considered an asset.
  • 3+ years’ experience in financial analysis, reporting, or budgeting (financial services industry experience strongly preferred).
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (Oracle NetSuite or similar is an asset).
  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and present financial insights clearly.
