Job description
OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for leading the Finance and overseeing Logistics function at the Winnipeg plant to support safe and efficient production of Pizza snacks for the US and Canadian markets. This role drives the creation of shareholder value through holistic margin management (HMM/productivity) and working capital initiatives. While driving shareholder value, the role is responsible for ensuring the plant achieves these objectives through reliable and accurate financial reporting and exercising strong fiduciary responsibility. This requires ensuring strong design and operating effectiveness of financial and operational controls.

This role partners with various internal and external stakeholders to accomplish these objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Serve as a member of the plant leadership team and contribute to plant and business initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Global Field Finance resources in the US and Global India Center to implement financial reporting, planning and controls standards
  • Presence “on the floor” will be critical to fully understand the operations such that your guidance is informed and respected within the operations community
  • Primary financial contact to North American Supply Chain Leadership based in Minneapolis, MN and Canadian Supply Chain Team based on Mississauga, ON, including communication of spring plan and delivering monthly results
  • Oversight and ownership of plant budgeting and related forecasting throughout fiscal year
  • Liaise with external stakeholders to ensure external reporting is delivered in timely manner (KPMG, CRA, Statistics Canada, Canadian Dairy Commission)
  • Interpret and review financial and operational results to drive actionable responses
  • Provide financial analysis and support for plant capital project investments
  • Ownership of plant financial controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley for external financial reporting
  • Ownership of plant operational controls to ensure fiduciary responsibility is upheld
  • Own cost per case and HMM metrics through budget and monthly reporting to identify opportunities to partner with others to drive HMM savings
  • Member of plant sub-committees (Central Safety Committee, Food Safety Internal Audit Team)
  • Drive efficient and effective working capital management
  • IT access champion for software applications (example Maximo) and internal servers
  • Support the Material & Production Planner to seamlessly deliver on Customer Commitments (Casefill), to deliver Inventory Reductions for both Raw Materials and Finished Goods
  • Continue to foster the relationship with external warehouse - Congebec
  • Plant logistics contact to North American Supply Chain Leadership based in Minneapolis, MN and Canadian Supply Chain Team based in Mississauga, ON
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
  • 3 – 5 years of related experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work well on team and build effective relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Detailed oriented and strong analytical skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in a finance/accounting role within manufacturing
  • Experience with SAP, Maximo

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
  • International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of Canada) will not be considered due to need to maximize collaboration time with North America stakeholder & partner base
