A regional agricultural organization is seeking an Extension Agrologist for a temporary 12-month position in Swift Current. The successful candidate will support rural water infrastructure projects by assisting clients with regulatory navigation and providing technical guidance. This role requires a degree in Agriculture and four years of relevant experience. Candidates should possess strong communication and collaboration skills.

Articling candidates who do not have the required years of experience may be considered and evaluated based on their relevant experience to determine their appropriate level.
In this dynamic, client-facing role, you’ll work directly with producers, suppliers, contractors, and consultants to support the development of rural water infrastructure.
You will often be the next point of contact within the organization for individuals and groups seeking support for projects such as dugouts, dams, piping systems, water treatment, and on-farm water supply systems. Your ability to communicate technical information clearly, provide practical guidance, and collaborate with external stakeholders will be essential in helping our clients successfully navigate project planning and regulatory processes.
You will provide technical support, help clients navigate regulatory requirements, and offer guidance when working with consultants and contractors. Additionally, you may support agricultural producers with water supply projects or refer project proponents to the appropriate technical experts outside the organization.
The successful candidate will have a degree in Agriculture or equivalent knowledge of agronomy, water management, and hydrology, along with four years of relevant experience. Eligibility for membership in the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrology is also required.
